This would be much less formal and would be much less difficult to plan. The fellowship area was not being used that day. We called two delis and ordered food. My niece called her fiance and told him the revised plans for the rehearsal dinner. He thought this sounded fantastic. He would make arrangements to have a pal of his tend bar and would set up for the drinks.

The rehearsal dinner was a nice relaxed evening. The guests were able to socialize and mingle and the bride and groom didn't feel the need to sit in one spot while everyone ordered their food and had it served. With having a buffet line the environment was very casual and the out of town guests did not have to attempt to find another site in an area that they weren't familiar with.
